EzClap: Auto-Publishing FAQ & Best Practices 💡
As you start using the Auto-Publish and Spotlight features, here is a quick guide based on the questions I get most often, plus my personal tips for maximizing your reach.
🚀 Publishing & Spotlight
Publish Order: Spotlight videos publish from left to right. Drag them to switch the order!
Clip Titles: Whatever you set as the Clip Title in EzClap is what will post to your socials.
Nervous about your first post? Set TikTok/YouTube to Private mode for your first few uploads to check the formatting. Switch to Public once you're comfortable!
DailyDrop vs. StreamSync: I highly recommend DailyDrop! Posting at the exact same time every day trains the algorithm and creates consistent audience growth.
📈 Growth, Hashtags & Sync
Hashtag Placement: Don't put hashtags in the video title! Use the dedicated hashtag sections I built in the Auto-Publish page instead.
Auto-Hashtags: Use the tag #{category} in your settings. It automatically pulls the game you were playing (e.g., #valorant) so you never have to type it manually.
YouTube Trick: I recommend unchecking "Notify Subs" for Shorts. This forces the YT algorithm to push your video to new viewers!
Google Cal Sync: Make your event Title the stream title, and use the Location field for the game category. This ensures EzClap fetches the correct game art for Discord Events.
🎨 Design Studio & Editing
One & Done Templates: Take your time creating the perfect template. Once it's set as your Default, you practically never have to visit the Design Studio again!
Game-Specific Styles: Want a specific font for a specific game? You can assign different templates to different games. If a game isn't assigned, it just falls back to your Default.
Editing Workflow: Trim first! Cut your video down to the section you want before you start fine-tuning the caption text.
Fixing Speech Timing: If the captions feel a bit out of sync, use the Advanced Timing and Speech Detection menu to easily dial it in.
🛑 30 Seconds Twitch Clip Default Duration
The default option to create a clip on twitch is 30 seconds, which means EzClap will fetch 30 second clips, but sometimes, the encounter happens just before that.
As an advice, set the duration of the clip to 60 seconds, so you can always trim later, for example, I use streamerbot action to clip, and during that i set the duration of the clip to 60 seconds. This ensures my clips are 60 seconds long on EzClap, and i can trim as needed.
As I develop this solo, it's easier for support to be through Ezclap Discord, so reach out there if you have any questions or want any new features!
